Capital & Strategic Holdings

Long-duration ownership, structured partnerships and the balance-sheet discipline that supports everything else the group does.

Investment thesis

Why the group is here

Capital & Strategic Holdings is the anchor of the group. It holds the interests PBI intends to own for a long time, and it funds the conviction the other verticals require.

The mandate favours durable positions over frequent activity. Where a holding is understood well, ownership is extended. Where it is not, the position is reviewed until it is either understood or exited.

Allocation decisions are made by the Executive Committee on a rolling basis. There is no fixed deployment schedule, which the committee considers a feature.

Focus areas

Where activity concentrates

Long-term ownership

Positions held without a defined exit horizon, reviewed annually and, where warranted, extended without discussion.

Structured partnerships

Co-investment alongside operators who already know the asset better than we do.

Balance-sheet stewardship

Reserve capital maintained for opportunities that arrive without notice, which most of them do.

Value creation

Operational involvement calibrated to the strength of executive conviction rather than the size of the position.

Selective capital deployment. Deliberately unhurried.
